This is the tip that worked for me.
To get the avatar, you have to tie once, then win once.

To tie Count Von Roo, you have to play 5 seconds before an odd minute (ex: 12:04:55 am NST, 12:20:55 am NST etc)

Then to win against him, you have to play 5 seconds before an even minute (ex: 12:01:55 am NST, 12:17:55 am NST etc)

If you're going for the avatar, sure it's worth it. However, even though the chances of gaining a level are roughly 50%, over the 60 or so times I've diced with death, I've lost a level about 65% of the time.

The actual worth of dicing with death is how much it costs to train your pet's level one point. If your pet is under level 20, the win or loss is currently worth about 3000 NP. For my pet, dicing will death will either save me or lose me over 25000 NP and a half a day of training. Be as careful as you need to be!

In Deadly Dice, there is a limit to the amount of levels you can get from a single game. This is because you CANNOT enter A "Double or Nothing" if you do not have enough levels to take when you lose.

For example, if you have a level 7 pet, the most levels you could gain from Deadly Dice for that time is 4. This is because you do not have the extra 8 levels to wager. If you attempt to tie the dice in such an instance, you will instead lose, unless, of course, you hit "roll" close enough to the XX:00 tick to win anyway.

" Deadly Dice "

Did you know Deadly Dice is timed? Most people don't!

A quick background for those that have never seen deadly dice.
It's available through Roo Island mini world.
It is only open from Midnight until 12:59 NST i.e. it closes at
It's a simple game; you get one go a day, against Count Roo, each rolling one dice.
If you lose your pet loses a level (Down to level 1. If you have a pet at level 1 they cannot play!).
If you win your pet gains a level
If you tie, you have the option of rolling for "double or nothing". If you win, you gain double the levels, if you lose your pet LOSES all the levels.
If you tie, and gain levels, you also get the Dice avatar. However,  if you tie and then lose to Count Von Roo  you lose the avatar.
